Interactive Light Projection Tour PDF Print E-mail

In 2008 City Dressing undertook a brand new initiative called the Interactive Light Show Tour. Essensially a festive interactive projection in town centres to allow public to engage with light. We visited a score of town and cities including Nottingham, Leicester, Kingston, Whitstable, Hammersmith to name a few.

The interactive light show incorporates an interactive floor projection with large scale building projections and music. The aim is to transform a high street or square and allow the public to create their own effects.

THE INTERACTIVE LIGHT SHOW TOUR

Interactive

  • The floor projection is the centre of the light show and is directly interactive.
  • The projection consists of a number of image layers combined with a movement sensor. As the public move within the projection, the images change to produce effects to include real time footsteps in the snow and image flips.
  • We also have large gobos illuminating buildings and utilising passerby's shadows in the design. This linked in with background music and bespoke branding creates a unique seasonal attraction in the town centre.

Objective

  • Attract 50% more visitors to the town centre.
  • Position your town as a unique seasonal destination.
  • Provide an activity to compliment shopping.
  • Make the lights interactive.
